Miss. Baptist Disaster Relief actively responding to flooding needs
The Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) Disaster Relief Task Force is actively responding to assist churches, local emergency management, and homeowners related to the recent floods of 2020. Churches desiring to provide assistance should contact Deanna Vail at email@example.com.
Please note that the Convention Board is not currently accepting in-kind donations: clothes, furniture, bottled water, etc. However, cash donations are being accepted as this approach allows us to tailor the response to the individual needs.
The primary need is for prayer. Pray for the homeowners and business owners that have been directly impacted by the flood. Pray for first responders and emergency management personnel. Pray for church volunteers and disaster relief volunteers as they share the Love of Jesus through a tangible outreach. Pray that lives and homes will be restored. Most of all, pray that Jesus will be shared and glorified throughout the relief and rebuild process.
Financial donations are always needed to provide for specific supplies and other items that are necessary for response activities. Financial donations may be given through Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief (MBDR) and will go directly to support recovery/relief efforts in partnership with local Baptist churches and associations.
Donations may be made on-line at mbcb.org/giving/. Checks made payable to the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, designated “MS Disaster Relief” on the memo line, may be mailed to MBCB, P.O. Box 530, Jackson, MS 39205-0530.
