Title: Paid Ministry Intern
Supervision:
The intern will serve under the direct supervision of the Pastor, who will provide regular evaluation and mentoring in ministry competencies, job duties, and Bible teaching. Secondary supervision will be provided by the Leadership Team and ministry leaders in areas where the intern is serving (youth, children, worship, missions, discipleship, etc.).
Summary:
In harmony with the mission and ministry plan of New Bethel Baptist Church, this paid internship provides hands-on ministry experience in a normative-size (100–150 attendance) Southern Baptist church. While the intern’s primary ongoing responsibility will be the discipleship and oversight of the Youth Ministry (7th–12th grade), the intern will also have the opportunity to explore, observe, and participate in other ministry areas such as children’s ministry, pastoral care, worship/music (if gifted), outreach, administration, and associational involvement.
This internship is designed to help prepare developing ministers for a lifetime of service in the local church.
Time Expectations:
This is a part-time, flexible position. The weekly time required will vary depending on the season of ministry (ex: summer camps, VBS, DNow, holiday events). Flexibility will always be given to allow the intern to pursue Bible college, seminary education, or other educational commitments.
Compensation: $18,500 + $1,500 extra for summer activities
