The Mississippi Baptist Young Musicians Honor Choir is an auditioned choir for students in grades 4-6 chosen from all over Mississippi.  It is a weekend that includes choral singing, worship arts activities, a worship concert on Saturday night and participation in the host church’s worship experience on Sunday morning. Auditions are done by video and submitted every spring for the weekend in the fall.

Wayne Causey

Bio:

Wayne Causey earned his Bachelor of Music Education at Stetson University in Deland, Florida and his Master of Church Music degree (double major in Church Music and Music Education) at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Wayne is presently the Contract Worship and Music Specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board where he consults with Tennessee Baptist Churches in the area of worship and music as well as conducts the Tennessee Baptist Men’s Chorale. He most recently served the Forest Hills Baptist Church (Nashville, TN) as Associate Pastor for Worship and Music for over 28 years.

Wayne has also served Belmont University’s School of Music as Coordinator of Church Music Activities for over 22 years in an adjunct position where he teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in church music. As an experienced choral clinician and adjudicator, he has led numerous music camps and choral festivals throughout his ministry.

Wayne, and his wife Carrie, live on a farm in Tennessee where there is always something fun happening! They are grandparents to 10 grandchildren, ranging in age from 10 to 18.
