Worship for Adults

MBSO holds a weekend retreat in January, followed by four concerts in churches across the state. Church orchestra members and adult instrumentalists are invited to be a part of MBSO.  Following a Sunday afternoon rehearsal and supper, the orchestra presents a full concert during the evening worship service.  If you are interested in becoming a part of MBSO, call the Worship Ministries at 601-292-3267 or e-mail your name, church membership, instrument, and part you prefer to play to cwtaylor@mbcb.org.

The Mississippi Singing Churchmen is a men’s choir, comprised of ministers of music from Baptist churches in Mississippi. The Churchmen began in 1965 under the leadership of the late Dan Hall, director of the Worship Ministries Department for Mississippi Baptists (1964-1986). In 1971 the Churchmen elected officers and organized their operations for outreach, missions, and ministry. They have sung their testimony throughout Mississippi and in mission trips around the United States and the world. They are committed to “Sharing the Song of Jesus” wherever they have opportunity.

• September 17 – Salem Heights Baptist Church, Laurel; 6:00 p.m.

The Mississippi Singing Churchwomen share a similar mission as the Singing Churchmen. The group has a long history of gathering together to share testimony through song.  They often sing a worship concert at varying locations each year.

The Mississippi Baptist Senior Adult Choir Festival is an annual event gathering Senior Adults from around the state.

The 2025 festival will be held on May 13 at First Baptist Church, Florence, MS.

Edd Brashier is the Event Coordinator for Handbells in the Worship Ministries Department. Edd is available to assist churches with their handbell ministry. Please call the Worship Ministries department with any handbell questions or needs.
