Personal Evangelism Commitment

Personal Evangelism Commitment Day is a great opportunity for pastors in Mississippi to encourage church members to pray for the salvation of lost loved ones and friends by name. Also, it is a great time to provide church-wide training for personal evangelism in worship services or small groups. Pray for Southern Baptists to feel the urgency of sharing the Gospel and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to evangelize.

Leadership Department

John Pace, Greg Barker, and Elizabeth Lindigrin serve together in the Leadership Department of the MBCB. Training church leadership is crucial for a church’s growth. The resources of the Leadership Department are designed to help pastors and church leaders lead the church in whatever ministry context they are in. The goal is to equip church leaders to produce healthy churches that fulfill the Great Commission in their community and beyond. Pray for the encouragement, the resources, and the safety of the Leadership Department as they travel to churches for trainings and build ongoing relationships with MS Baptist pastors and church leaders.

The Baptist Children's Village

Sean Milner became the 11th executive director of The Baptist Children’s Village ministry in November 2016 after nearly 25 years of practicing law. He and his wife Elizabeth have two grown children, Nathaniel and Rebecca, and are active members of Morrison Heights Baptist Church where Sean is a deacon and a longtime adult Sunday school teacher. Sean is an alumnus of The Baptist Children’s Village. He came to the ministry at a young age with his three brothers and one sister and remained in the care of The BCV for 18 years. He is the only former childcare resident to serve in the position of executive director of The Baptist Children’s Village and the only one among all the Southern Baptist child-caring agencies nationwide. Pray for Sean Milner and his family as he continues to serve God in a difficult yet rewarding ministry. Pray for the children of The Baptist Children’s Village to experience the love of the Father personally and receive His gift of Jesus.

Children's Ministry

Children’s ministry is a powerful opportunity to form lasting faith in the lives of young people. Yet, a majority of children’s ministry leaders feel this ministry is often forgotten by their church. A child’s spiritual formation should start from home with the influence of the parents. Yet, having them in a children’s ministry can also guide them towards God. In children’s ministry, we can plant small spiritual seeds in their hearts, and from there, let God grow these seeds to form them into who He wants them to be. Pray for the children’s ministry leaders and volunteers in your church to have the resources and training necessary to guide children toward God. Pray that God will bless and protect children’s ministries all across Mississippi.

BSU Summer Missionaries

The BSU equips and sends students from Mississippi across the world for the cause of Christ. These students serve either internationally or with the North American Mission Board. Pray for the safety of these ambassadors for Christ and pray they will boldly and compassionately share the Gospel with those the Lord brings across their path.

*Upcoming prayer guides will be released throughout the year.
