We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Pastor in charge of music. We offer a competitive salary, housing, living expenses, and insurance. Duties include:
Direct and coordinate the planning of an ongoing Graded Choir Program to be compatible with the church calendar and other emphases of the church. Work with the pastor and appropriate staff in planning worship services of the church including selecting music, directing music groups and leading congregational singing. Schedule and coordinate the development and performance of all music groups within the Church. Maintain a music library and purchase needed choir literature, instruments and music equipment as needed. Secure, train and coordinate use of instrumentalists and vocalists for use in services as needed in church ministry. Supervise operation of all sound equipment and recommend needed purchases of new or updated equipment. Secure and train sound equipment operators for services as needed. Attend music seminars, conferences and conventions on Association, State or SBC levels in order to remain current on new music methods and materials. Enlist, train and supervise directors and workers for children’s choirs including ordering of materials and literature. Serve as Chairman of the Music Committee to evaluate and promote the Music Ministry. Work with the Budget Committee providing input on music and/or other budget needs. Coordinate and supervise a continuing OUTREACH MINISTRY. Assist Pastor in other duties.
