First Baptist Church, Mendenhall, MS is beginning our search for a new bivocational/part-time children’s minister. The Children’s Minister is responsible to the pastor, full-time ministry staff and the children’s committee for directing the church in planning, coordinating and promoting the children’s ministry (birth thru grade 6) of the church, special children’s projects & events, and providing for the personal development of children as they grow in a Christian lifestyle, providing insight, direction and advice for the coordination, promotion and implementation of children’s programs. The individual should possess a passion and calling for children’s ministry, demonstrate good organizational and communication skills, and understand FBC Mendenhall’s desire to provide consistent and engaging spiritual teaching and activities. The individual should expect to be available as needed for one-on-one or family counseling, especially as it relates to questions about salvation. The individual would be expected to be present and helpful in teaching and assisting during the Sunday school hour, worship and children’s church, regular Sunday evening and Wednesday night activities, and special events.
