Principal Function: The Minister of Children is responsible to the pastor for the planning, coordinating, and promoting of development and educational programs for the children of the Church.
Qualifications:
Must be a born-again believer and have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Exhibits spiritual, moral character and lifestyle, fulfilling Biblical qualifications
described and outlined in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 2, Ephesians 4 and 1 Peter 5.
Must have a love for children and families.
A personal sense of calling from the Lord to work with a Children Ministry.
Ability to plan, organize and supervise programs as well as those who volunteer within the Children’s Ministry.
Ministerial experience in children’s leadership within a Church is preferred.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study pertaining to children or the pursuit of a degree relating to a Children Ministry is preferred.
Duties of the Minister of Children
1. Plan and carry out a Children’s Ministry program for the Children’s Department
(Preschool through Elementary school age children).
2. Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
3. Plan and direct Sunday School, Sunday night and Wednesday night children programs and activities.
4. Coordinate with Children’s Department Sunday School teachers to ensure that
adequate and appropriate Bible Study is provided.
