The Director of Children’s Ministries serves alongside the Pastor, full-time ministry staff, and the Children’s Committee to direct, plan, coordinate, and promote the church’s Children’s Ministry (birth through sixth grade), including special children’s projects and events. This individual is responsible for fostering the spiritual growth and personal development of children as they mature in their Christian faith by providing leadership, guidance, and direction in the coordination, promotion, and implementation of children’s programs.
The individual should possess a genuine passion and calling for children’s ministry, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and understand First Baptist Church Mendenhall’s desire to provide consistent, engaging, and biblically sound spiritual teaching and activities.
The Director of Children’s Ministries should be available, as needed, for one-on-one or family counseling, particularly regarding questions about salvation and spiritual growth. This individual is expected to be actively involved in teaching and assisting during Sunday School, worship services, Children’s Church, regular Sunday evening and Wednesday night activities, and other special events.
