Edwards Baptist Church in Edwards, MS is a small, Southern Baptist Church of 20 to 30 elderly brothers and sisters who love God, love each other, and love our visitors. We are seeking a Pastor(permanent, transitional, or interim) to lead us as we try to reach the lost and unchurched for Jesus Christ. Though we only have worship services on Sunday mornings and Bible Study on Wednesday nights, we’d like to reinstitute Sunday night services. We’d also like guidance and help in developing an effective outreach program to better serve our Lord.
Edwards is a small southern town of approximately 1,000 residents located 19 miles east of the Mississippi River along Interstate 20 in Hinds County. The city is very rural with no traffic problems, no even traffic lights.

Position Summary
The Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church, responsible for preaching and teaching the Word of God, shepherding the congregation, equipping members for ministry, and leading the church in fulfilling the Great Commission. The Pastor will model a Christ-centered life, uphold Southern Baptist doctrine, and provide biblical leadership in accordance with the church’s mission, vision, and values.
Primary Responsibilities
– Preaching & Teaching
– Prepare and deliver biblically sound sermons each week
– Teach Scripture faithfully through regular Bible studies, discipleship, and counseling
– Equip the church to apply biblical truths to daily living
