FBC is a vibrant, 170-year-old Southern Baptist, community – focused congregation in West Point, MS, seeking a passionate, Christ centered Minister of Music to lead us in dynamic worship by honoring the richness of traditional hymns while embracing the energy of some contemporary music. Our congregation desires a skilled musician with a shepherd’s heart who is ready to lead our worship choir, work with our Pastor and ministry team to shepherd our flock and help our congregation enter the presence of God.
The Minister of Music will oversee all musical aspects of our church to plan and lead spiritually filled services which encourage congregational participation. This role requires versatility and the ability to foster a nurturing community within our music ministry.
Qualifications:
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the Christian faith.
• A clear and true calling to ministry
• Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
• Proven experience in directing choirs and leading congregational worship
• Strong musical ability including vocal and instrumental
• Knowledge of various music genres, from traditional/historic hymns to Contemporary Christian Music
• Willingness to provide support to Youth and Children’s choirs
• Strong organizational and ministry leadership skills
• Technologically proficient
