Minister of Music (Bi-Vocational)
Position Overview
The Minister of Music is entrusted with the planning and leadership of music for Sunday morning and evening worship services, as well as the direction of the adult choir. This position requires close collaboration with the pastor and worship team to develop worship experiences that engage the congregation and honor God. The expected commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per week, though flexibility is necessary to accommodate the needs of the church.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide musical leadership during Sunday morning and evening worship services.
• Direct the adult choir, including organizing regular rehearsals and preparing special musical selections.
• Select music that aligns with sermon themes and supports the church’s blended worship format.
• Coordinate with the pastor and church leadership in the planning of worship services.
• Mentor and support volunteer musicians and vocalists within the congregation.
• Prepare music for special services, including Easter, Christmas, and other church events.
Qualifications
• A demonstrable and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, accompanied by an understanding of Biblical Baptist beliefs.
• A sincere devotion to worship and a strong desire to lead others in praise.
• Proven experience in leading congregational music and directing a choir.
• Familiarity with both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music.
• Exemplary communication and organizational skills.
