The Minister of Music leads and coordinates the music ministry, planning and leading worship services, directing the choir, and supporting the church’s mission through Christ-centered music.
Responsibilities
Lead Worship:
Plan and lead music for Sunday services and special events (Christmas, Easter, revivals).
Choir Leadership:
Direct and rehearse with the choir, encouraging participation from all ages.
Coordinate Musicians:
Work with instrumentalists and vocalists, schedule rehearsals, and prepare for services.
Song Selection:
Choose biblically sound hymns and worship songs that fit Southern Baptist beliefs.
Support Pastor:
Work with the pastor and leaders to enhance worship and support the church’s ministry.
Special Music:
Organize solos, ensembles, or children’s choirs as needed.
Audio/Visual:
Coordinate with volunteers for sound and projection needs.
Qualifications
Faith:
Follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony and biblical lifestyle.
Musical Ability:
Skilled in singing or playing an instrument, with experience leading worship and choirs.
Leadership:
Able to guide volunteers, work well with people, and build unity.
Doctrinal Alignment:
Must agree with the beliefs of Good Hope Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message.
Experience:
Church music ministry experience preferred.
Hours and Compensation
Part-Time:
8-10 hours per week (includes prep, rehearsals, and services).
Compensation:
Salary based on experience and church budget.
