Principle Function: The Music Director is responsible to the church and under the supervision of the pastor for the development and promotion of a comprehensive church music program.
Regular Duties:
1. (A) Serve as a member of the church council as Music Director; coordinate the music with the organizations and emphases of the church.
(B) Serve as chairman of the music committee.
2. Ex-officio member of all church committees.
3. Help compose the order of worship as well as the announcements that go in the bulletin.
4. Prepare and recommend an annual music budget.
5. Maintain the music library.
6. Responsible for an adequate visitation program with special emphasis on those in the music ministry.
7. Promote and assist in associational music work.
8. Responsible for the music in all church services
9. (A) Responsible for choir rehearsals for adult choir, youth choir, and children’s choir.
(B) Supervise and recruit workers for children’s choir program.
(C) Organize special groups as desired, coordinate the performance of each special group.
10. Work with the pastor in enlisting revival team.
11. Present special church music programs throughout the year, using all choirs separately or jointly as is feasible to the Music Director.
12. Be responsible for securing replacement in his absence.
13. Become a member of the church.
