First Baptist Church of Lumberton is a welcoming Southern Baptist congregation committed to glorifying God through Christ-centered worship, faithful biblical preaching, discipleship, fellowship, and service. We believe Scripture is sufficient, authoritative, and transformative, and we seek a pastor who will faithfully shepherd our church as we grow in Christ and make disciples.
The Senior Pastor will provide spiritual leadership by preaching and teaching God’s Word, shepherding the congregation, equipping believers for ministry, and serving alongside the deacons and ministry leaders. Responsibilities include expository preaching, pastoral care, prayer, counseling, evangelism, leadership development, administering the ordinances, officiating weddings and funerals, and supporting ministries for all generations.
Candidates must meet the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, demonstrate a growing relationship with Christ, affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and our church’s beliefs, and be committed to sound doctrine and expository preaching. Seminary or Bible college training is preferred. Candidates should exhibit humility, integrity, strong leadership, a heart for evangelism, discipleship, prayer, and a vision for spiritual growth while remaining faithful to Scripture.
