Janice Baptist Church, in the middle of the DeSoto National Forest, in the southern half of Perry County MS is prayerfully seeking a Bi-vocational Pastor. We are a small rural congregation, 16 miles south of New Augusta, about 14 miles north of Wiggins. Our most recent Pastor accepted the call to the Association Mission Strategist role for our County Association after being with us for 6 years and 8 months. Our membership is primarily 50 and up but we are an active congregation. We partner with Feeding the Gulf Coast in providing food distributions to the county. Last year we had 8+ 18-wheeler loads of food distributed to our citizens. We are very active in our local association, support foreign missionaries, the Perry County Christmas Mission, Navajo Missions and more. Our Vision Statement is “Turning Hearts to Jesus” and we have been doing that for over 100 years. Average attendance is about 30 in Sunday Morning Worship. The salary we can offer is not sufficient for a full-time income which is why we are seeking a bi-vocational pastor.
