Pilgrims Rest, a loving rural Southern Baptist Church located in the NE corner of Copiah County, is seeking a pastor because our current pastor is retiring. Position is fulltime (but open to co-vocational/bi-vocational). We pray for a man to walk alongside us in worship, teaching, pastoral care, and ministry leadership. Our heart is to reach our community and beyond with the hope of Jesus Christ. We meet for Bible study and worship on Sunday mornings, evenings, and Wednesday prayer meeting/Bible study. Average Sunday morning attendance is 90-95. Our Youth ministry has over 20 teenagers on Wednesdays. We are excited about growing our children and adult departments. We joyfully engage in outreach, service to others, and participate in 2-3 mission trips yearly.
We thrive on fellowship, embracing young and older generations, and are eager for a pastor who will genuinely connect and interact with all members and our community. The next pastor will lead us with Biblically sound teaching, strong character, and family values as reflected in his personal life. We stand firmly on the authoritative truth of Scripture and the Baptist Faith and Message (adopted SBC 2000) observing believer’s baptism and Lord’s Supper.
