Merigold Baptist Church was founded in 1898 and has been active for 127 years, through lean times and flush times, with congregations ranging from over 300 in the mid-to-late 20th century to as few as five a few years ago. Today, we are happily growing again, our Sunday morning services averaging 25-30. We have an awesome Children’s Department, excellent Sunday School teachers, and an exceptional music program led by a dynamic minister of music and enhanced by our unusually talented pianist and keyboard player. Our members and other regulars are faithful and actively involved. We are prayerfully seeking an energetic, disciplined full-time pastor who is eager to join us in this rejuvenation and to be our spiritual guide. A bi-vocational/part-time candidate is an option. We prefer someone with some seminary training and some experience in church related work. We have a beautiful 100-year-old church building that has been significantly renovated and a large, attractive parsonage. If the Pastor prefers to buy a home, we can provide a housing allowance. The small town of Merigold is located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, five miles from the bustling town of Cleveland. We are perfectly situated for outreach and growth.
