Union Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a pastor to shepherd our congregation. We desire a man who seeks first the Kingdom of God and will come alongside us as we work to further His Kingdom.
We are a traditional Southern Baptist church in northern Clarke County — halfway between Meridian and Quitman. We meet for Sunday School, morning worship, and evening Bible study as well as Wednesday prayer meeting/youth/TeamKID. We average approximately 50 in Sunday School, 80 in worship, and 40–50 on Wednesday nights.
A recent survey confirmed that we have strong relationships, healthy fellowship, and ministries that care well for our church family. We are thankful for this strength and stability. However, our outward-facing ministries are not yet bearing the fruit we desire. We long to reach our community more effectively, welcome new families, and extend our ministry beyond our walls.
We are not looking for someone to “fix” us or carry ministry alone. We seek a shepherd who values a healthy church family while leading us outward in mission. We recognize that the pastor God sends may still be developing certain skills. What matters most is a heart aligned with Christ, committed to His mission, and willing to grow. Our prayer is for a pastor who embraces both strong fellowship and meaningful community engagement as we become a church that reflects Christ’s heart for His people and His world.
