Calvary Baptist Church began in 1881, in Meridian, Mississippi. We moved to our current location, downtown Meridian, in 1962. Calvary currently has approximately 30-40 regular Sunday Service attendees and a membership of approximately 150-200, including many shut ins. We are a primarily older congregation and are looking to attract young adults and young family members. Our main mission is to better serve the Lord, spread His word and love, to reach those who don’t know Him, and to grow our ministry. We are currently searching for a Pastor to lead our church family and small staff into the future, spreading God’s love and word, and serving Him at every opportunity. We are looking for a Pastor who is 30-50 years of age, with a Seminary degree, and approximately five years of ministry experience. Our preferred ministry skills are preaching ability, pastoral leadership, Bible teaching, good organizational skills, outreach/visitation and Christian education. We are looking for the following personality traits: patience, charisma, humbleness and a tremendous desire to serve the Lord. We are a loving and a freely giving congregation and want a Pastor to lead and guide us to best serve the Lord.
