Senior PastorFull-Time

First Baptist Church in Batesville, MS, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill our opening for Senior Pastor due to our current pastor’s upcoming retirement. Our church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and is active in giving, community involvement, and missions. Our mission is to glorify God by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world. We desire to lead Panola County and beyond into a life-changing relationship with Christ through thriving children’s, youth, and adult ministries.

Our pastor should exemplify the characteristics outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9. This includes:

• Leading worship services
• Administering sacraments
• Providing counseling
• Teaching congregation members
• Overseeing church activities
• Engaging in community outreach
• Upholding church policies
• Being accountable to both the congregation and the deacons.

This position will be full-time with health insurance, retirement, and housing and/or housing allowance included in our salary package. Salary package will be based on education and experience. A Master’s Degree or higher with a minimum of 10 years of experience is preferred, but we would prayerfully consider other experience and qualifications as the Lord leads.
