Shady Grove Baptist Church of Lucedale, MS is prayerfully seeking applicants for Student Minister. The desired candidate must be led by God, acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, have a consistent and faithful prayer life, maintain personal devotions, be a personal soul-winner and profess a vocational calling into student ministry. He must maintain a high moral and ethical lifestyle and demonstrate financial responsibility. The Student Minister will work closely with the Pastor, Children/Youth Steering Committees, Church Council, Staff and Deacons in planning and directing children/youth activities and events including but not limited to Wednesday and Sunday bible study for students, youth retreats/camps, youth weeks, youth revivals. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide by example and teaching, spiritual leadership to students and seek the salvation of the unsaved. Build a strong foundation of Christian faith and Southern Baptist doctrine in students. Work with the Pastor and appropriate committees in coordinating and promoting all student ministries of the church. Teach Wednesday and Sunday Bible studies for students. Develop and maintain relationships with local school officials. This position will be considered full time unless otherwise discussed, with office hours Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm. For the purpose of this job description, students are defined as birth to college and career with the main focus being youth (7th-12th grade).
