The Part-time Student Minister sets the example, publicly and privately, of a Christ follower, serving under the leadership of the pastor.
LEADERSHIP: Responsible for all student ministries and outreach to non-churched students. Selects, purchases, and distributes ministry resources. Leads the student team and trains all volunteers. Leads students in Summer Camp and other trips as needed for spiritual growth. Communicates calendar events to parents/guardians. Recommends student ministry budget needs. Builds relationships with local middle and high schools.
PLANNING: Serves as the primary voice for all student ministry communication. Prepares a full year of events, presented to the deacon body before September 1 annually. Hosts fall and spring student-parent meetings with a printed, updated calendar. Uses Facebook, email, and text to reach students, parents, and the church.
MINISTER: Cares for students of the church and community. Recruits and equips the team for consistent care ministry. Provides spiritual counseling (personal, bereavement, dating, etc.) and advises professional help when needed. Attends all Friendship Baptist student functions.
GENERAL: Meets weekly one-on-one with the pastor and assists with reasonable church-related needs. Keeps 10-15 weekly office hours for student planning and activities.
MISSION: Facilitates an integrated approach to discipleship on Sundays and Wednesdays. Works with the pastor to set 5 annual goals each year.
