Southway Baptist is located in the heart of Brookhaven in Southeast Mississippi. We are a multi-generational church with established ministries and activities for all ages, however, we hope to find a student minister who will lead our Children (1st-6th grades) and Youth (7th-12th grades).
The Student Minister is responsible to the pastor and deacon body for planning, coordinating and promoting the spiritual wellbeing of the elementary, junior high and high school students. Specifically, this person will develop, administer and maintain the total student ministry of the church, while also seeking out additional student and family prospects in the community.
The Student Minister will prepare and deliver the Sunday morning children’s sermon and teach a youth lesson as well as a children’s lesson once weekly; teach basic Bible truths and real-life topics for teens; plan local hangouts, summer church camps, and service projects, and serve as a mentor by building trust with teens and their parents.
