POSITION DESCRIPTION
STUDENT MINISTER
I. PURPOSE OF MINISTRY
The Student Pastor is to assist and support the Senior Pastor in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in engaging in pastoral care ministries, and in providing spiritual leadership for First Baptist Church Myrick. Specifically, he is to serve his Lord and church through the planning and implementing of a balanced program of ministry and outreach designed to develop spiritual maturity, personal enrichment, and a strong sense of Christian fellowship among the members of First Baptist Church Myrick, especially our children and youth.
II. NATURE OF POSITION
The general philosophy of work is to lead in programs and performances of ministry that include the following two (2) basic areas:
A. STUDENT MINISTRY
The Student Pastor is to plan, promote, and direct a Ministry with all age groups of the church, coordinate with the Senior Pastor, Staff Members, and all elected Church Leadership.
He is to have the following responsibilities:
1. Plan, promote, and maintain a calendar of events for pre-school, children, youth and college age (such as camps, Disciple-Now, etc.)
2. Work closely with parents to involve them in ministry and to minister to them.
3. Organize and direct the Wednesday night Bible Study for the youth.
4. Lead in discipling students and recruiting other adults to assist in this process.
