Southern Baptist Church in NW Mississippi seeking a Student Minister for grades 1-12. Current average of 250 members. Experience with children & youth ministry is preferred. The candidate must have an ability to relate to children, youth, and their parents. The position includes three general responsibilities. These responsibilities include the areas of evangelism, worship, and Christian recreation. Programs are needed to hold the interest of children and youth for the purpose of spiritual growth. The Student Minister will work closely with the Pastor, and must be able to fill the pulpit when needed.
This position includes meeting educational needs of children and youth, such as Bible Study on Wednesday, and the provision of Discipleship Trainings on Sundays. The Student Minister will actively participate in leading students to be part of worship services on Sunday morning and evening. He will be needed for counseling with students and families as situations arise. The Student Minister will be part of staff meetings. He will schedule events to coordinate with other church activities. He will also have the responsibility of coordinating with the Budget and Finance Committee to plan for the needs of the children & youth. He must be able to work with and communicate with the Youth and Children Committees and other committees which pertain to his area of ministry. Housing is provided for the family.
