Summary: We are looking to hire a part-time Youth Minister who will provide oversight and leadership to the youth ministry of Pelahatchie Baptist Church. The Youth Minister will partner with parents and youth volunteers in discipling youth, consistently engage students with the good news of the gospel, and support them in developing their love for Him and others. To be successful in this position, the Youth Minister will be present in the lives of the youth in their various contexts. He will work to provide a place where students feel they can belong, believe the good news, and become lifelong disciples of Christ.
Responsibilities
o Provide pastoral care for the youth, encouraging their spiritual growth and challenging them to grow in their commitment to Christ and His mission.
o Plan and coordinate youth events
1 – Weekly Devote meetings on Wednesday evenings
2 – Sunday School on Sunday mornings
3 – Monthly fun events
4 – Outreach events
5 – Youth Summer Camp
6 – Disciple Now Weekend
o Pray regularly for the students.
o Assist in developing and administering annual youth budget.
o Meet w/ Youth Committee to plan and coordinate youth events.
o Build and maintain relationships with parents of students.
o Attend all worship services
Qualifications:
o Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ & a growing relationship with Him.
o High School Diploma/Equivalent and a current University Student or Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.
o Initiative to engage in revitalization ministry
