Bethany Baptist Church in the Whynot Community near Meridian, MS, is prayerfully seeking a part-time, bivocational Youth Pastor. This role involves overseeing 7th-12th grade students and activities like Sunday School, Wednesday Night services, and special events such as DNOW, Youth Camp, and organized weekend activities. The Youth Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor, serving on the Ministerial Staff under his supervision and the Deacon Body. A Youth Council will assist in planning and managing youth-related activities. Candidates should exhibit Christian character, understand the Baptist Faith and Message, and have a passion for guiding youth toward Christ-like behavior. Our youth group averages 20-25 students, primarily from Southeast Lauderdale, many of whom participate in extracurricular athletics. As such, supporting these students outside traditional church activities is encouraged.
