Sentinel Training
Safeguarding Mission Volunteers in International Travel
The heart of the Mississippi Baptist Convention is missions and sharing the Good News of Jesus. In today’s world, travel safety is a significant concern. The Missions’ departments (Missions Mobilization, Men’s and Women’s Ministry and Collegiate Ministry) of MBCB want to assist volunteers in traveling safely. Because we continue to be missional and serve in the difficult areas, we must do our part in preparing our people.
Missions Mobilization encourages volunteers to take advantage of our Sentinel Training that is being offered at churches and associations throughout the state.

Please note that volunteers and team leaders receiving Margaret Lackey State Missions offering financial assistance from MBCB will be required to complete the training.
The cost of the training is $45 per person and includes materials. Each location has a limited number of spaces available so register early.
Approximately one week prior to the training, we will email you a confirmation for the training (4.5 hours total training time).
The Saturday trainings will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude around 1:00 p.m.
During the training, we will introduce the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board Safety & Security policies that have been developed by a team of Mississippi leaders under the advisement of Fort Sherman Academy’s expertise. We will also introduce our Crowning Shield program (a contingency support service provided by Fort Sherman) that will be available to volunteers that complete the Sentinel Training.
Thank you for your faithfulness to go where God is leading.
