Worship for Adults

The Mississippi Baptist Symphony Orchestra is comprised of church orchestra members and adult instrumentalists from our Mississippi Baptist churches. The MBSO holds a weekend retreat in January followed by four concerts in churches across the state. If you are interested in auditioning for MBSO, contact MBSO Event Coordinator, Byron Green.

The Mississippi Singing Churchmen is a men’s choir, comprised of worship leaders from Baptist churches across Mississippi. The Churchmen have been in existence since 1965 and have expanded their ministry to include outreach, missions, and ministry. They have shared the Gospel throughout Mississippi and on mission trips across the United States and around the world. They are committed to “Sharing the Song of Jesus” wherever they have opportunity. The Churchmen can be heard in a worship concert during their fall tour, spring tour, or at the Mississippi Baptist Convention Annual Meeting.

The Mississippi Baptist Singing Churchwomen are comprised of female worship ministry leaders—ministers of music, accompanists, children’s choir coordinators, etc.—from across the state of Mississippi. Sharing a similar mission as the Singing Churchmen, these women have a long history of gathering to share testimony through song.  The Churchwomen gather annually for a rehearsal retreat in the Fall and sing throughout the year.

The Mississippi Baptist Senior Adult Choir Festival takes place annually in the spring. Senior Adult Choirs from across the state converge on the host venue excited for a wonderful and dynamic time of worship. Choirs are adjudicated on two selections from their rehearsed repertoire; however, choirs are not required to be adjudicated.  Also, senior adult groups and choirs are welcome to attend the event and not sing. The 2025 festival will be held on May 13 at First Baptist Church, Florence, MS.

Mississippi Baptists hold their annual State Handbell Festival in the Spring of each year. Handbell choirs representing Mississippi Baptist churches from across the state gather for a two-day weekend event. The groups join for rehearsal and mass choir ringing; each individual choir is encouraged to play a prepared song for adjudication.
